Uruguay politician: Karabakh has all preconditions for building independent state

The Nagorno-Karabakh people have become self-determined.

Former Senator of Uruguay, member of “The Nagorno-Karabakh Forum” of Uruguay and writer Oscar Lopez Goldaracena, who has arrived in Nagorno-Karabakh to monitor the constitutional referendum, said the aforementioned on Monday.

“I would first of all like to stress that we are in a country, where all the state structures work at a high level,” Uruguayan politician states, Artsakhpress reports.

In his words, Artsakh has all the preconditions for being recognized as an independent state. “I am impressed by the referendum, activeness of the people and the total absence of any disorder,” Goldaracena said.

He also recalled that Uruguay was the first country to recognize the Armenian Genocide. “I hope it will also be the first country to recognize the independence of Nagorno-Karabakh,” he stressed.
