Armenian cross-stone dedicated to the memory of Armenian Genocide victims unveiled in German city of Jena

On April 17, an Armenian cross-stone dedicated to the memory of the victims of the Armenian Genocide was unveiled and blessed by Prelate of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Germany, Archbishop Karekin Bekjian at one of the groves in central Jena of the German state of Thuringia, as reported the press service of the RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In their welcoming remarks, Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to Germany Ashod Smpatian, Member of the German Bundestag and President of the German-Armenian Forum Albert Weiler and Mayor of Jena Albrecht Schröter stated that Turkey’s recognition of the Armenian Genocide will become the cornerstone for reconciliation.

Among the attendees were Deputies of the Bundestag and Landtager of the Federal Republic of Germany, employees of the Municipality of Jena and representatives of the local Armenian community.
