Azerbaijan and Turkey hysterical on Lavrov photographing Ararat in Yerevan

ARMENPRESS. Recently Russian FM Sergey Lavrov was on an official visit in Yerevan. In the airport Lavrov photographed Mount Ararat. Russian FM official representative Maria Zakharova posted the photo on Facebook and wrote: “Today Ararat captivated with its beauty. Sergey Lavrov couldn’t help but photograph it”. This created hysteria in Azerbaijan and Turkey.

As “Armenpress” reports, citing Azerbaijani media, Azerbaijanis and Turks demanded via social networks for their countries to address the Russian MFA regarding this.

Maria Zakharova responded to this hysteria by writing:”When Mount Ararat was depicted on the coat of arms of the Armenian SSR, in response to the Turkish government’s protest FM Chicherin had said :”The moon is depicted on the Turkish flag, but the moon is not Turkish territory”.”
