Armenia has record growth in imports of goods in April

According to preliminary data, the imports of goods to Armenia have increased in April by more than 1.8 times, on an annual basis.

This indicator was partly achieved due to the low base of calculation.

Even though imports to the country had decreased by more than a third in April last year, there is a quality improvement.

The increase amounts to virtually 20 percent, as compared to April 2014; this is not little, given the recent trends. This indicator for April 2016 was unexpected.

Until the “record-breaking” April—that is, from January to March of the current year—, however, imports had dropped by 15.9 percent.
