Tbilisi, Ankara and Baku plan to hold military exercises in 2019

The joint military exercises of Georgia, Turkey and Azerbaijan may be held on Georgian territory in summer 2017, Head of General Staff of Georgian Armed Forces, Vakhtang Kapanadzde, told RIA Novosti Wednesday.

“Yes, this is planned but something might change…The exercises will be large-scale with a focus on the issue of counter-terrorism and security,” Kapanadze said, responding to the question as to whether the mentioned joint exercises will be held in Georgia.

The agreement on holding the exercises was reached following the meetings of the defense ministers of the three states in Gabala.
