NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said he was not silent on the April events in Karabakh.
“I have strongly supported the initiatives to have a politically negotiated solution and also strongly supported the efforts to make sure that ceasefire is respected,” Mr. Stoltenberg said in response to a question by an Armenian student of the Warsaw University why all member states had been silent on brutal murders of civilians by Azerbaijan.
NATO chief recalled he had issued a statement on Karabakh and on importance of the political solution to the conflict.
“So, I do not believe in a military solution. I do not believe that what we need there is more troops or more military presence, but we need strong support,” he said, calling on all parties involved to make efforts to ensure that ceasefire is respected and the political process continues.
