Knesset’s decision to send the bill on Armenian Genocide recognition to the education committee is an option to postpone the matter, representative of the Armenian Patriarchate of Jerusalem told Armenian News-NEWS.am.
“Israel is trying to improve ties with Turkey. This is the reason that Knesset did not discuss the bill. I think they want to put off the matter like they did it last year when chairman of the committee made concrete proposals to the government of Israel to recognize the Armenian Genocide and to the education ministry to include the topic into curriculum. Knesset held debated, but did not put it to the vote,” Fr. Koryun said.
