On October 25, 2016, His Grace Bishop Abgar Hovakimyan, Primate, accompanied by Mr. Pierre Akkelian and Mr. Levon Isakhanyan, paid a visit to the School of Religious Studies at the McGill University. Prof. Daniel Cere, Interim Director of the School, Dr. Robert Di Pede, Director of the Newman Centre of McGill University, and Mr. Jonathan Birks, the President of the Birks Family Foundation, Chair of the School of Religious Studies’ Advisory Board, the School’s long-time supporter, hosted the Primate at the Newman Centre.
During the meeting parties discussed various aspects of mutual interest and expressed willingness to develop cooperation between the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church and the McGill University School of Religious Studies.
After the meeting Prof. Cere invited the Primate to visit the Birks Building, where the School is housed.
