The area of information technologies (IT) is a wonderful tool for innovation development but it shouldn’t cover the entire innovation field of Armenia.
Head of Technological Development Department at the Ministry of Economic Development and Investments of Armenia, Ruben Gevorgyan, told the aforementioned on Saturday, in the framework of the workshop ”Innovation development process of Armenia.”
”I view the IT from two standpoints: first as a separate field, which isn’t in any way different from other areas and second as a wonderful tool for the development of other areas with innovation potential,” he said.
According to Gevorgyan, when speaking about innovations it is necessary to understand how to use the success recorded in the IT area in order to promote other areas which have innovation potential.
”Getting inspired by the IT success, some people allow themselves to insist that that all our efforts must be focused on that area, since it can completely cover Armenia’s entire innovation field. All those who have an idea what innovation is, realize that that is a wrong lobbying. Of course, IT is a wonderful area but it should be viewed as a tool for developing the other areas,” he added.
