Armenian-Iranian pharmaceutical companies to be established

Minister of Economic Development and Investments of Armenia, Suren Karayan, on Saturday received the director of the Armenian Union of Manufacturers and Importers of Medicines, Samvel Zakaryan.

At the meeting a number of issues related to the sphere of pharmaceutics were discussed, the press-service of the Ministry of Economic Development and Investments of Armenia informed Armenian News – NEWS.am.

 

In particular, agreement has been reached on organizing a meeting with the company representatives of the given sphere, Health Ministry of Armenia and Armenia Development Fund (ADF), at which new procedures related to the functioning of a common market of medicines in the territory of EAEU states will be presented.

The procedures will take effect from 1 January 2017. The possibilities of exporting the production of Armenian pharmaceutical companies will also be discussed.

The Ministry has also proposed to consider the possibilities of developing the pharmaceutical sphere in the context of deepening the economic cooperation with Iran and creating a free trade zone.

Specifically, agreement has been reached on that the Union will hold talks with the representatives of Iranian pharmaceutical companies on the opening of joint Armenian-Iranian pharmaceutical companies in the free trade zone, submitting relevant proposals to the Ministry.
