President Donald Trump’s administration published budget request for FY2019 which contains considerable foreign aid cuts.
According to the document, the administration asks to provide $3.24 economic aid to Armenia, as compared to $4 million in 2018. The aid provided within International Military Education and Training program will make $600 thousand, and $1.5 million will be allocated under International Narcotics Control and Law Enforcement.
No military aid is proposed either for Armenia or Azerbaijan.
In 2018 administration cut economic aid to Azerbaijan, but decided to allocate $3 million it in Fiscal Year 2019. The administration also requests $600 thousand for Azerbaijan under the International Military Education and Training program.
As to the neighboring Georgia, the proposed economic aid stands at $25 million.
