We have corresponding political and legal bases for petitioning to the international court on the Armenian Genocide issue.
The Director of the Institute of History of Armenia, Ashot Melkonyan, noted the above-said at Tuesday’s discussion on this matter.
In his words, the recent events have led to the fact that the Armenians began to speak nationwide about demanding reparations for the genocide.
“Today we have a politico-legal package. We have a concept on the genocide issue,” said Melkonyan. In his view, this declaration is a very positive phenomenon, since radical changes have taken place within the political mindset of the Armenian society.
“We just need to realize that April 24 is a boundary of the events being carried out within the framework of the centenary of the Genocide. Subsequently, we must begin work to achieve comprehensive reparation,” Ashot Melkonyan added, in particular.
