Turkey has nothing to do in settlement of Karabakh conflict

YEREVAN. – Turkey has nothing to do in the settlement of Karabakh conflict, Vice Speaker of the Armenian parliament Eduard Sharmazanov said in parliament on Tuesday.

Armenia, unlike Turkey, has not put forward preconditions for the normalization of relations, he said. This was Armenia’s approach while signing protocols on establishment of diplomatic relations with Ankara, and the lack of preconditions was particularly mentioned.

“Turkey used to declare ‘zero problems with neighbors’ policy, but in fact this resulted in missing opportunity to improve relations with almost all neighbors – with Cyprus, Syria, Greece and finally with Armenia. This is unacceptable. The key to resolution of the conflict is in Stepanakert, in the hands of Karabakh people,” Sharmazanov said.
