YEREVAN. – The Minister of Education and Science, Armen Ashotyan, on Tuesday received the World Bank (WB) Country Manager for Armenia, Laura Bailey.
They discussed the WB’s education development loan program for Armenia. It was noted that the main component of this program will be used for the complete renovation of several high schools in the country, modernization of their facilities, and introduction of modern technologies to these schools. About two dozen high schools in Armenia are included in the reconstruction program.
The minister, considering the priorities of the Armenian government, proposed to the WB representative to organize the school construction projects at a greater pace, and, if possible, to start the respective simultaneous work in a greater number of high schools.
Ashotyan and Bailey also conferred on several organizational matters relating to the implementation of this program.
