President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan praised Pope Francis “for calling things by their names”.
Following the Holy Mass at the Vatican during which Pope Francis described as genocide the killings of Armenians in the Ottoman Empire, President said Pope’s words will have a strong impact.
“The words of the leader of a church with 1 billion followers cannot but have a strong impact,” he said in an interview with the Associated Press.
Talking to Italy’s RAI television, President Sargsyan noted that unrecognized genocide is posing danger for the future of the mankind.
The world leaders as His Holiness Pope Francis who acknowledges the values and put morale above geopolitical interests, can lead to a world without genocides.
