French Magazine Presents Extensive Article on Armenian Genocide

An extensive article, covering the Armenian Genocide, was published in the April issue of Historie Monthly of the French authoritative Le Figaro.

The press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia informed that the article by the French Armenian historian Michael Nishanian, entitled “Armenia: The Forgotten Genocide”, presents the chronology of the Genocide of the Armenians in the Ottoman Empire in details, as well as the preceding Hamidian massacres and the promotion of the Turkish nationalist ideology, underlying the Genocide. The section “Centuryold denial” of the article touches upon the continuous denial policy of the Turkish authorities before and after the Armenian Genocide, bringing the change of the day of the Battle of Gallipoli centenary as a bright example of it, which, contrary to the expectations of the Turkish leadership, has not given any results in diverting the attention of the international community, according to the author.
