On Tuesday, 2nd of June 2015, Armenia’s President Serzh Sargsyan received the Czech Republic Constitutional Court President Pavel Rychetský, who arrived in Armenia upon the invitation of Armenian Constitutional Court president.
Sargsyan welcomed the high-ranking guest, stressing the importance of frequent reciprocal visits in terms of deepening of cooperation and exchange of experience. Such visits, according to the president, enable to comprehensively discuss professional issues, and exchange opinions on key constitutional matters in friendly atmosphere. , Sargsyan also considered Mr Rychetský’s visit useful in the current stage of the ongoing constitutional reforms process in Armenia, stressing that the experience of any country, especially a European one is important for Armenia.
Serzh Sargsyan praised the Armenian-Czech interstate relations and cooperation in different areas, which, in his words, have become quite active in the recent years. According to the president, the cooperation between the two friendly states will also become more complete through the development of relations in the legal field.
Pavel Rychetský praised the cooperation established with the Armenian Constitutional Court, stressing that Armenia, being the cradle of the European civilization, only deserves respect, and the Czech Republic is willing to deepen the existing cooperation with the Armenian partners.
Mr Rychetský presented to Armenia’s president the passed road and achievements of the Czech Republic Constitutional Court, established as early as in 1920, the present system of the country’s constitutional justice and the current issues on the way of its improvement.
Sargsyan also presented the guest with the constitutional reform process in Armenia, close cooperation with the European organizations in that context, as well as the significance and objective of those reforms for the country.
