Armenia’s capital, Yerevan, and second largest city, Gyumri, are among the most preferred travel destinations in the post-Soviet region for many Russians, RIA Novosti reports, citing UFS.Travel.
The agency’s latest ranking reveals that Odessa, a popular Ukrainian resort city famed as a major tourism center since the Soviet times, lags behind Gyumri this year.
Countries in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) appear less popular compared to European routes. Most of the tourists aged above 55 have given preference to Burgas, the second largest city on the Bulgarian Black Sea Coast, as well as Prague (Czech Republic), Tivat (Montenegro), Chișinău (Moldova), Novo Alexeyevka (Ukraine) and Minsk (Belarus).
