Turkey has belatedly responded to Brazil’s recent recognition of the Armenian Genocide.
The Turkish MFA has issued a press release in connection with Brazil’s recognition of the Armenian Genocide, reported Rotahaber website of Turkey. In the release, Turkey accused Brazil of “irresponsibility,” and criticized it for recognizing this tragedy.
The statement also noted that Turkish Ambassador to Brazil, Hüseyin Diriöz, was recalled to Ankara for “consultations.”
Turkey has recently recalled its ambassadors to Vatican City, Austria, and Luxembourg, too, which likewise have recognized the Armenian Genocide.
