Russia’s position on the Armenian Genocide was absolutely clear, MP from RPA group Hayk Babukhanyan said commenting on a meeting of inter-parliamentary committee on cooperation between the Armenian National Assembly and Russian Federal Assembly.
Russia’s position was clearly expressed by President Putin’s visit to Yerevan for the April 24 commemoration events. In addition, the State Duma adopted a new statement on the centenary of the Armenian Genocide. Commemoration events were held in nearly 400 cities of Russia, Babukhanyan said. Deputy Speaker of Federation Council Galina Karelova participated in the “Parliamentarians Against Genocide” meeting in Yerevan.
“Russia did maximum of what our strategic partner could do,” he assured.
