UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon is concerned over violations of ceasefire regime on Armenia-Azerbaijan border and the line of contact, he said during the PACE summer session on Tuesday.
UN chief said he especially concerned over the military rhetoric of the parties and called to continue talks for the settlement of Karabakh conflict.
“Any military confrontation, even if it is accidental, would be devastating not only for the two countries but for the entire region. I hope that at their next meeting, the Minsk Group co-chairs and the OSCE Secretary-General will encourage both sides to engage in more substantive and structured negotiations to find lasting solutions to the problem,” Ban Ki-moon said.
