Armenia Citizen Faces Up to 3 Years in Prison for Attempting to Illegally Cross Turkey Border

Armenian capital city Yerevan resident Vyacheslav Lukin has been charged under the Criminal Code of Armenia.

On April 6, Republic of Armenia citizen Lukin had attempted to illegally cross the Armenian state border and enter Turkey. But he was detected by the border guards at the territory of Shahumyan community of Armenia’s Ararat Province, reported the Judicial Information System of Armenia.

The defendant faces a fine between one-hundredfold and two-hundredfold of the monthly minimum wage, or up to three years in prison.
