Europe set to host EU-Armenia investment forum next year

Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan hosted on Wednesday Lawrence Meredith, Director for Neighbourhood East and Institution Building at the European Commission.

Head of the EU Delegation to Armenia, Ambassador Andrea Wiktorin was also present at the meeting, the government’s press service reported.

The deputy PM highly valued the close cooperation with the EU and attached importance to the development of relations with the organization in all directions. Lawrence Meredith noted that the EU will continue to support the reforms being implemented by the Armenian government.

At the guests’ request, Avinyan introduced the most important directions of reforms and the current opportunities and challenges.

He reflected on the promotion of investments in Armenia. Tigran Avinyan said that an EU-Armenia investment forum is planned to be held in Europe in 2020.

The officials discussed a number of issues related to education, justice, energy efficiency, digitalization and public administration reforms.
