Armenian airports report 6% growth in passenger flow in December

Armenia’s two airports saw an increase in passenger traffic in December 2019 against the same month of 2018.

Yerevan Zvartnots International Airport and Shirak Airport in the second largest city of Gyumri handled 238,066 passengers last month, up 6% from December 2018, Armenia International Airports CJSC reported.

In December last year, Zvartnots Airport reported a 6% increase in passenger traffic. The airport served 226,786 passengers last month against 213,953 of the past December.

Shirak Airport welcomed 11,280 passengers in December, up 7.1% from December 2018 when passenger traffic comprised 10,535 people.

In 2019 passenger flow at the two airports of Armenia reached 3,169,144 people, marking a 10.9% growth from 2018.

Meanwhile, in January-December 2019 the total number of takeoffs and landings in both airports rose by 13.7% compared to the numbers of 2018.
