Tajikistan interested in development of bilateral ties with Armenia

Tajikistan is interested in the development of traditionally friendly bilateral relations with Armenia, President Emomali Rahmon said during his meeting with Armenian counterpart Serzh Sargsyan.

President Sargsyan is in Dushanbe for the participation in the meeting of the CSTO Collective Security Council, Armenian president’s office reported.

During the meeting,President Sargsyan said that the friendship between the two peoples and the current level of mutual understanding and respect between Armenia and Tajikistan are a solid basis for the development and deepening of bilateral relations, inter-parliamentary ties, for implementation of promising cooperation projects between Armenia and Tajikistan.

The Armenian leader briefed Tajikistan’s president on the efforts made by Armenia and the OSCE Minsk Group towards a peaceful settlement of the Karabakh conflict.

President Sargsyan invited the Tajik counterpart to pay an official visit to Armenia.
