Armenia Sees 7.1 Percent Growth in Clothing Manufacturing

Between the months of January and August of this year, textile manufacturing in Armenia went down by 15.8 percent and made up AMD 298 million (approximately USD 629 thousand) compared to the same period in 2014. The indicators for clothing manufacturing went up by 7.1 percent and made up AMD 5 billion 371.4 million.

According to the National Statistical Service of Armenia, Armenia produced 6 tons of cotton textile in the first eight months of this year (compared to the same period last year, the indicator has gone down by 41.2 percent), 31.5 tons of rugs and rug items (5.4 percent growth), 4 million 604.3 thousand pairs of stockings (54.7 percent growth) and 2 million 595 knitted items. This indicator has grown by 68.4 percent.
