The Armenian Patriarch of Constantinople, Archbishop Sahag II Mashalian, reacted to the telephone conversation between Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Monday.
“(…) the telephone conversation became festive gift that blossomed our hopes for peace for our world which is reeling from news of war.
I am praying that let peacemaking measures of diplomacy prevail—and not weapons, wars and deaths. I hope that this telephone conversation will become a reason so that a friendly new chapter opens in the thousand-year-old Armenian-Turkish relations,” the Armenian Patriarch of Constantinople wrote on Twitter.
