The Turkish authorities should have presented to the public the pogroms in Dersim and the events of 1915. This was stated in an interview with Turkish Artigercek by Hikmet Çetin, former deputy prime minister, former head of the Turkish Foreign Ministry and former head of the opposition People’s Republican Party.
In his opinion, the state should have said that a lot of unfortunate events happened and apologised.
Çetin recalled that during his tenure as Foreign Minister, Armenia became independent and Turkey was one of the first countries to recognise its independence.
