The opposition “Armenia” and “With Honor” Factions of the National Assembly (NA) of Armenia plan to hold an urgent session to discuss the matter of border delimitation with Azerbaijan. Artur Khachatryan, an MP of the “Armenia” Faction, stated this speaking with reporters at the NA Monday.
“For us, there are many unknowns in this matter. And we expect that the [Armenian] authorities will present and explain on what basis they claim that the [several] territories of Tavush Province belong to Azerbaijan,” said Khachatryan.
The Armenian parliamentary opposition plans to convene an urgent NA session during the upcoming four-day session next week, and in accordance with the NA regulations.
Recently, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that the Armenian authorities are accused of being ready to hand over four villages of Tavush Province to Azerbaijan, but, according to him, there have never been four villages with such names in Armenia. Until now, the PM spoke about the threat of a new war if Armenia refuses to delimit borders.
