A preliminary agreement was reached in Brussels on providing aid to Armenia from the European Peace Facility (EPF) of the European Union (EU) for the first time.
The RFE/RL Armenian Service has at its disposal diplomatic documents which prove that the EU plans to earmark 10 million euros to Armenia, which must be spent within 30 months.
This amount, according to the document, is to be allocated to set up a modular field camp for an Armenian military battalion, which will include a medical aid clinic, as well as related services and capacity.
The objective of this assistance is to help the Armed Forces of Armenia increase their resilience and stability-building capacity, and thereby better protect the civilian population during crises and emergencies, according to the document.
