Magdalena Grono to replace Toivo Klaar as EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus

EU Political and Security Committee has confirmed the appointment of Magdalena Grono as EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the crisis in Georgia, the Czech Permanent Representation to the EU announced. She will replace Toivo Klaar who currently holds that position.

“Political and Security Committee #PSC just confirmed the appointment of Magdalena Grono (Czechia) as EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus and Georgia. The nomination will be formally confirmed by the Council of the EU,” the Czech Permanent Representation to the EU wrote on the social network X.

In May, Magdalena Grono was appointed Chief Diplomatic Adviser to the President of the European Council, Charles Michel. Before that she worked as Senior Foreign Policy Adviser to President Michel.
