The president of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, said he is “in favor of maintaining good relations with Armenia.” He announced this as he met with representatives of different nationalities living in Belarus, BelTA reports.
“It would be good if, as before, we build good relations with Armenia, despite all the shortcomings and nuances. Believe [me], this is absolutely not our fault,” he said. “We have tried to help the Armenians in every possible way, we cooperated with the closest people, we helped in every possible way. But, you see, they wanted to go to the West, to the EU.”
“Armenians are very intelligent people. In the near future, they will find out where their happiness lies,” Lukashenko added.
