US wanted to see peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan months ago – Miller

The US wanted to see a peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan months ago, State Department Spokesperson Matthew Miller said at a daily briefing.

He said they never tied the agreement to COP29 conference to be held in Baku next month.

“We wanted to see a peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan months ago and have been pushing for a peace agreement, ultimately hoped to get one over the line. But that’s up to the two parties, not the United States,” Miller said.

Armenia has repeatedly signaled its willingness to sign the deal.
