On January 17, 2016, His Grace Bishop Abgar Hovakimian, Primate of the Armenian Diocese of Canada, on the invitation of His Excellency Armen Yeganian, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to Canada, conducted the traditional Home-Blessing “Doun Orhnek” of the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia to Canada. The Primate blessed and congratulated the Ambassador, his family and staff of the Embassy, wishing them a happy and successful year, and presented to the Embassy a wooden carved cross from Armenia. On the Ambassador’s invitation, representatives of the Ottawa Armenian community attended the service. The Home-Blessing service was followed by a reception.
