On December 13, 2015, St. Gregory the Illuminator Armenian Cathedral of Montreal celebrated its 45th anniversary. On this occasion, His Grace Bishop Abgar Hovakimian, Primate, celebrated Divine Liturgy and ordained Michael Arabian, Armen Bajakian, and Shiraz Siwadjian to the minor order of Acolytes.
Upon conclusion of the Divine Liturgy a reception was organized by the Parish Council under the presidency of His Grace Bishop Abgar Hovakimian and His Excellency Armen Yeganian, Ambassador of Armenia to Canada.
As an expression of high appreciation for devoted service to St. Gregory the Illuminator Armenian Cathedral of Montreal, Bishop Abgar honored Choirmaster Ara Toshikyan, Mr. Jirayr Dolar, Mr. Nurhan Cankul, and Mrs. Rachel Dohramajian with the highest insignia of the Armenian Diocese of Canada and the Primate’s Blessings and Appreciation Address.
H.E. Armen Yeganian announced that Dr. Archavir Gundjian, for his plurennial service to the Canadian Armenian community and the Motherland, was honored by the Ministry of Diaspora of Armenia with the Golden Medal.
