The Armenian Diocese of Canada launches a new “Senior Studio Art Project”

We are delighted to announce that the Armenian Diocese of Canada, with support from the Federal Government (New Horizons for Seniors Program), has launched a new “Senior Studio Art Project” aimed to introducing and keeping seniors interested in artistic activities through workshops and creation of personal artistic forms of expression.

Seniors will be given an opportunity to explore the cultural heritage of Montreal, Quebec City, and Ottawa, and will be provided with equipment for the creation of personal pieces of art.

A catalog of the pieces of art created by seniors will be published and Christmas exhibition will be held at the Diocesan Headquarters.

As art is a powerful means of preventing some of the most common diseases in seniors, exploring art collections, participating in thematic workshops, and creating personal pieces of arts, would provide to the beneficiaries an alternative healthcare tool.

The Armenian Church Diocese of Canada is going to implement similar activities in other parts of Canada.
