Cross-stone Dedicated to Armenian Genocide Centennial Placed in Argentina

A cross-stone commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide was placed in the Vicente Lopez City of Buenos Aires on October 10, report Hayern Aysor’s sources in Argentina. The cross-stone was brought from Armenia and placed in the yard of the St. Gevorg Armenian Church. The authors of the initiative are the Armenians of Vicente Lopez, who were supported by the local municipality. Among those attending the unveiling of the cross-stone were RA Ambassador to Argentina Alexan Harutyunyan, deputies, as well as members of the local community and schoolchildren. The cross-stone was blessed by spiritual pastor of the St. Gregory the Illuminator Armenian Church of Buenos Aires, Father Maghakia Archimandrite Amirian. Chairman of the board of the Armenian community of Vicente Lopez, George Tosounian and Mayor George Makri gave speeches, and the congratulatory message of RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan was read. The ceremony included performances by singers Alin and Talin and the Nairi Dance Ensemble. In the end, Ofelia Derdzagian granted a plaque to the mayor of Vicente Lopez on behalf of the Armenian community.
