Armenia’s Ministry of Energy Infrastructures and Natural Resources is embarking on a new project to develop safe strategies to manage radioactive waste and nuclear fuel.
To that effect, Minister Ashot Manukyan has ordered a plan for creating a working group to coordinate the efforts of several government agencies (including the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Nature Protection, Energy Infrastructures and Natural Resources, Territorial Administration and Management, Economic Development and Reforms, and Emergency Situations, the National Security Service, the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant. and the Nuclear Safety Regulation Committee adjunct to the Government).
According to a press release by the Ministry, the group has already started its work. The final date for elaborating and submit the strategy is May 20.
