President Serzh Sargsyan on Tuesday 9 February 2016 received Minister for Foreign Affairs of Sweden Margot Wallström, who is paying an official visit to Armenia.
The Presidential Press Office informed Armenian News-NEWS.am that the interlocutors discussed the avenues for the development of Armenian-Swedish cooperation and the chances for Sweden’s assistance in the ongoing reforms in Armenia, and exchanged views on regional and international developments and challenges as well as the Nagorno-Karabakh peace talks.
Also, they lauded the Armenian-Swedish political discourse. Sargsyan noted that Sweden is one of Armenia’s important and reliable partners in Europe.
Wallström, for her part, stressed that a good platform has been created toward further developing relations between the two friendship countries, and expressed readiness, on behalf of her country, to assist Armenia in implementing reforms.
President Sargsyan stated that Sweden plays a significant role in the strengthening of Armenia-European Union relations. And FM Wallström assured that Armenia can still count on the respective support of Sweden.
