Armenian Brandy to be Produced in China

The effective path for Armenia’s economic development is the engagement of large-scale investments. This is what Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Hovig Aprahamian said as he touched upon the perspectives of Armenia’s economic development during a meeting with the participants of the 2016 “Baze” Pan-Armenian Youth Reunion. The Prime Minister assured that the implementation of correct and effective actions will seriously help the country’s economy develop. “Armenia’s economy is very sensitive. We don’t have oil, gas or natural resources. The effective path for our economic development is the engagement of large-scale investments. We are working actively in that direction,” the Prime Minister stated, according to “Armenpress”. He attached importance to the launch of construction of the Amulsar ore and assured that the exploitation of that ore would significantly revitalize the country’s economy. “This is truly a major project for us. It will create jobs for 1,200 people, and I am certain that the exploitation of the Amulsar ore will revitalize our economy and create new jobs,” the Prime Minister said.

The Prime Minister also informed that Armenia and China have agreed on the establishment of a joint copper smelting plant in Armenia. “We also have an agreement on establishing an Armenian-Chinese brandy factory in China. This means that Armenia will export the raw material for brandy to Armenia and produce Armenian brandy there.

You can imagine how important this project is, taking into consideration the tremendous Chinese market. We will finally solve the problems with the production of grapes,” the Prime Minister said, adding that the government is also discussing other investment and prospective projects.
