The Justice Ministry of Armenia proposes to punish for unjust enrichment, Armenian Justice Mniister Arpine Hovhannisyan told Armenian News – NEWS.am, commenting on her speech at the Government session on August 18.
“When significant growth is recorded in the property or expenses of a high-ranking official, this being incomparable with the lawful incomes, a question arises: where does he get that income? The law enforcement system will be entitled to ask that question. The law enforcement officers will check the correspondence between lawful income and actual expenses of officials,” the Minister said.
The re-registration of the property on relatives will also not be a way out: the law enforcement authorities may disclose this as well, the Minister added.
