Saturday, on April 16 was the Armenian Church Diocese of Canada’s annual blood drive dedicated for the victims of the Armenian Genocide.
This is the 16th consecutive year where Armenians as well as non-armenians gather to give blood.
A gesture of the spilled blood during the Genocide, with new donated blood to help the sick and the blood infusion needing population.
The chief organizer, Mrs Hilda Turshuju, year after year tackle’s all the logistics and make this event a one full of hope. Extending a helping hand was the moto of the event and it surely did so.
This year’s blood drive was supported by the united committee of the 101st Genocide commemoration and was attended by numerous municipal and federal dignitaries.
The donors, the volunteers, the Diocese and certainly the person in charge of the event Mrs Turshuju are commended for this gracious annual gesture.
A unique but a generous event where we would like an abundance of collected blood.
Thus start the series of commemoration events in Montreal.
