EAEU and China to create trade database

The Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and China will create a mutual trade database. The agreement on this was reached in Beijing on Wednesday, at the meeting of the Chairman of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) Tigran Sargsyan and First Vice Premier of the Chinese State Council Zhang Gaoli. Sargsyan’s visit took place at the invitation of the Chinese side.

“We highly appreciate the huge contribution which you made to the Chinese-Armenian relations while running the office of the Armenian Prime Minister. And we are grateful for your activity aimed at developing the ties between China and EAEU,” Gaoli said.

For his part, Sargsyan praised China’s efforts towards forming transparent architecture lacking political constituents. According to him, although the EEC trade bloc and the Chinese Ministry of Commerce are already holding talks regarding the trade and economic agreement, these talks can be accelerated.

Referring to the formation of the database, Zhang Gaoli noted that when necessary the Chinese side will turn to the EEC for support in implementing mutually beneficial projects.

Tigran Sargsyan and Zhang Gaoli agreed to hold regular meetings and discussions.
