FM Mirzoyan and Congressman Schiff discuss US humanitarian assistance to Karabakh

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR, or Artsakh), Karen Mirzoyan, on Thursday met with US Congressman Adam Schiff.

The process of peaceful settlement of the conflict between Azerbaijan and Nagorno-Karabakh, the provocations on the Line of Contact by the Azerbaijani armed forces, and the US humanitarian assistance to Artsakh were discussed at the talk.

On the same day, Mirzoyan also met with a group of regional analysts. The NKR FM briefed them on the process of independent state-building in Artsakh, the economic situation, and development prospects.

Responding to the analysts’ queries, Karen Mirzoyan touched upon the challenges the NKR is facing, especially the current situation in the process of a peaceful settlement of the Azerbaijani-Karabakh conflict.

The NKR Foreign Minister’s visit to Washington D.C. concluded with a reception held in the same evening in the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia to the US, and which was attended by diplomats, representatives of the American Armenian organizations and community, religious leaders, and journalists.

Armenia’s Ambassador to the US Tigran Sargsyan and NKR Foreign Minister Karen Mirzoyan addressed the participants with welcoming remarks.

In his speech, the Karen Mirzoyan expressed his gratitude for the cordial reception and support provided to Artsakh, and stressed the importance of national unity in the settlement of the Azerbaijani-Karabakh conflict.
