It will be possible to jointly develop new approaches and strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation within the framework of a renewed European Neighbourhood Policy.
The Prime Minister of Armenia, Hovik Abrahamyan, on Friday noted the abovementioned at his talk with around 60 members of the European Democrat Students (EDS), which is a pan-European student and youth political association.
The EDS members are in capital city Yerevan along the lines of their Council meeting.
In the PM’s words, the European agenda remains a priority of Armenia’s foreign policy, informed the Press Service of the Government of Armenia. In this context, he underscored the Armenia-European Union talks which recently kicked off in Brussels.
Reflecting on the Armenian Genocide, Abrahamyan stressed that this is not solely a tragedy of the Armenian people, but also a global crime against civilization and humanity, and its inadequate condemnation causes further similar mass crimes.
Speaking about the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the Armenian Premier highlighted that Azerbaijan’s ongoing aggressive policy has increased tension in recent times.
Hovik Abrahamyan also commented on the recent referendum on constitutional amendments in Armenia, and noted that these draft amendments will boost the role of the government and parliament.
Subsequently, the PM responded to several questions posed by the European students in attendance.
