The Tekeyan Cultural Association and the ADL supporting Alan DeSousa

NEWS RELEASE

The Tekeyan Cultural Association of Montreal as well as the Armenian Democratic Liberals (Ramgavars) are officially supporting the candidacy of Mr. Alan DeSousa as the nominee for the Liberal Party of Canada to represent St-Laurent as the candidate for the upcoming federal bi-election to replace Mr. Stéphane Dion.

Mr. DeSousa is a resident of Saint-Laurent for more than 44 years. He has served as an elected officer for more than 31 years (one term as Ste-Croix school board level, 3 terms as city councilor and 4 terms as Mayor.)

He also served as a member of the executive committee for the city of Montreal for 11 years with responsibilities in finance, administration, environment and sustainable development as well as economic development.

He has been a staunch supporter and a close associate to the Armenian community serving them for more than 31 years, particularly with issues regarding the Armenian community centers in Saint-Laurent, the commemoration of the Genocide and the celebration of Armenia’s independence.

Mr. DeSousa collaborated with the Tekeyan center for more than 30 years.

The Tekeyan Cultural Association and the ADL recommend all Armenians residing in Saint-Laurent to register as Liberal members in order to elect Mr. DeSousa as Saint-Laurent’s Liberal nominee and eventually send him as a Member of Parliament to Ottawa.

We will collaborate with Mr. DeSousa’s team to his new political move and success. Let us work to make Mr. DeSousa our voice in Ottawa.
