Armenia MOD: PACE committee decision is unacceptable

The Minister of Defense of Armenia, Seyran Ohanyan, deemed unacceptable the decision by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) Committee on Political Affairs and Democracy, which has approved an anti-Armenian report, entitled “Escalation of Violence in Nagorno-Karabakh and Other Occupied Territories of Azerbaijan,” by Robert Walter (United Kingdom, EC).

“We all will work together to achieve the objectives outlined by our military and political leadership, [and] to the benefit of the people of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic,” Ohanyan stressed speaking to reporters. “All other views, which could lead to unilateral decisions, or impose unilateral actions, are unacceptable to us. We believe that the [Karabakh] conflict can be resolved with a peaceful political method, through dialogue, and in a climate of trust.”

The Armenian defense minister added that this conflict shall be settled with the assistance of the international community.
