The Jewish people’s encounter is very important to us, and we need to be just as demanding.
The Minister of Education and Science of Armenia, Armen Ashotyan, stated the above-said at Monday’s open class in a capital city Yerevan high school, and devoted to the Armenian Genocide Centennial.
In his words, the Ministry of Education and Science of Armenia had carried out several programs ahead of this centenary, and these events are still in progress.
Ashotyan added that even though April 24—the anniversary of the Armenian Genocide—has passed, the entire year is symbolic, and the Armenian youth need to be informed about the genocides of other nations, too.
The minister stressed that the return of the “ghosts of the past” can be prevented by learning the lessons of history.
And as per Armen Ashotyan, it does not matter which ethnic, religious, or racial group a crime—whose pinnacle is genocide—is committed against.
