YEREVAN. – Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Edward Nalbandian, at Sunday’s talk in New York, presented the country’s ongoing constitutional reform process to Victoria Nuland, the US Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs.
The interlocutors also expressed satisfaction with the high level of bilateral relations, informed the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia.
In addition Nalbandian and Nuland reflected on the prospects for the development of Armenian-US economic cooperation.
Collaboration within international organizations also was on the agenda of the talks. Victoria Nuland expressed gratitude for Armenia’s active engagement in peacekeeping operations.
The Armenian FM and the Assistant Secretary of State also exchanged views on the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process. In this context, Nalbandian presented the tense situation in recent days, and as a result of Azerbaijan’s gross violations of the ceasefire. Nuland, for her part, expressed deep concern by the escalating tension, and stressed the need to maintain this armistice.
Edward Nalbandian and Victoria Nuland also reflected on the fight against terrorism, developments in the Middle East, and minority rights.
