Azerbaijan has submitted two interstate arbitration claims against Armenia to the Permanent Court of Arbitration in The Hague, international arbitration expert Sargis Grigoryan informed Sputnik Armenia.
“Both cases are currently underway,” the interlocutor said, adding that according to the approved schedule, these cases shall be completed by early 2027.
As per Grigoryan, the claims have not been declassified yet. Armenia has not made a public statement about them. Meanwhile, Azerbaijan has already issued several official statements on various occasions stating that it aims to hold Armenia accountable for the destruction of the environment and biodiversity in Nagorno-Karabakh.
Sargis Grigoryan believes that the course will depend on how the Armenian government will form its defense in the given cases.
